ClickFunnels is an all-in-one sales funnel and landing page builder that helps you generate leads and sell products, services, or memberships.

On the other hand, WordPress is a website builder. You can only use it to create landing pages and sales funnels if you pay for and install themes, plugins, and other integrations.

Below we’ll outline the main similarities and differences between these platforms.

  • Page builder for creating any type of web pages
  • Limitless functionality when combined with plugins.
  • Complete control over the code without any licensing fees

However, you will require additional paid plugins and third-party integrations to build dedicated landing pages or sales funnels.

In this section, we’ll compare and contrast the pricing aspect of both platforms and draw your attention to hidden fees and characteristics that may need your attention.

ClickFunnels Pricing:

  • Basic Plan $97 per month – Includes funnels, pages, and domains.
  • Platinum Plan $297 per month  – Includes more funnels and pages for multiple users.
  • Two Comma Club X $2,497 per month – You get what the platinum plan offers, plus training materials.

WordPress Pricing:

  • Free: Costs $0/month and gives you dozens of free themes and 3 GB of storage, but contains non-removable WordPress.com ads.
  • Personal: Costs $5/month and gives you best-in-class hosting, no WordPress.com Ads, unlimited E-mail support, and the ability to collect payments.
  • Premium: Costs $8/month and gives you everything in Personal plus access to premium themes and Google Analytics integration and the ability to earn ad revenue and upload videos.
  • Business: Costs $25/month and gives you everything in Premium plus access to advanced SEO tools, automated site backups, and the ability to install plugins.
  • eCommerce: Costs $45/month and gives you everything in Business plus integrations with top shipping carriers, premium design options for online stores, and the ability to accept payments in 60+ countries.

For those who already have a WordPress website and want to build landing pages or sales funnels, upgrading to the Business or eCommerce plans is likely the most cost-effective solution.

You can use a third-party service such as CartFlows, which costs $239 per year, to turn your website into a selling machine using one-click sales funnels.

For those who don’t use WordPress and simply want to make landing pages and sales funnels, ClickFunnels makes sense. It drastically simplifies the process of creating effective sales funnels without requiring third-party integrations.

Funnel Builder

You can use either ClickFunnels or WordPress to build beautiful sales funnels. While ClickFunnels offers a simplified all-in-one solution, you can only add funnels to WordPress using third-party plugins such as ClickFunnels, WooFunnels (free), or CartFlows (paid).

Which Platform Offers the Better Solution for Building Funnels?

  • ClickFunnels lets anyone create their first sales funnel in under 10 minutes and is much simpler to get to grips with than WordPress.
  • WordPress sales funnel plugins like WooFunnels simplify creating conversion-optimized landing pages, opt-in pages, and thank you pages but require other plugins (like WooCommerce) to provide checkouts and one-click upsells.

Page Builder

Both ClickFunnels and WordPress offer drag-and-drop editors that let you build pages with ease. Both offer numerous free and paid templates that you can customize. However, WordPress is the clear winner due to numerous available plugins.

Which Platform Offers the Better Solution for Building Pages?

  • Creating stunning landing pages in ClickFunnels is simple, but WordPress offers much more customization. Installing a landing page plugin such as SeedProd, Beaver Builder, or Divi will give you hundreds of ready-to-use templates to explore.

Sales & Marketing Features

Both platforms offer sales and marketing features, and you can use either platform to create emails and add them to your funnels. However, after you do the work, WordPress websites can have a better SEO reach.

Which Platform Offers Better Sales & Marketing Solutions?

  • ClickFunnels is appealing to beginners because it offers a simple set of sales and marketing features. However, it requires a third-party integration such as Mailchimp to deliver the emails.
  • You will require third-party plugins to gain comparable sales and marketing solutions on WordPress. A popular option is OptimizePress which lets you create landing pages and sales pages and integrates with email marketing services.

Memberships

Both platforms let you host a membership site. Once again, however, WordPress requires third-party plugins that incur additional costs to match ClickFunnels’ functionality.

Which Platform Offers Better Membership Solutions?

  • ClickFunnel’s approach to membership solutions is arguably better because it is extremely simplified and requires no third-party integrations.
  • WordPress users typically opt for integrations such as Ontraport to manage memberships, which adds to the overall cost.

E-Commerce Features

Both platforms can serve as online stores, but ClickFunnels is arguably simpler. It lets anyone create high-converting landing pages and sales funnels with minimal fuss.

Which Platform Offers Better E-Commerce Features?

  • ClickFunnels offers basic E-commerce features, such as accepting payments but doesn’t automate key tasks such as issuing refunds and sorting payment issues.
  • The e-commerce features in WordPress are only available in the top-level “eCommerce” plan or through third-party plugins like CartFlows or WooCommerce. These features include: accepting payments in 60+ countries, integrating with top shipping carriers, and accessing e-commerce marketing tools.

Analytics Features

ClickFunnels offers good analytics features, while Google Analytics Integration is only available to WordPress users on a Premium plan or higher.

Which Platform Offers Better Analytics Features?

  • ClickFunnels is better if you discount the third-party plugins available for WordPress sites. However, if you want to analyze social media lead behavior and see how people in your sales funnel make purchasing decisions, you will need to upgrade to the Platinum plan to access “Follow-up Funnels.”
  • To get the same level of insight into your funnels and the revenue they generate for your store on WordPress would require a plugin like WooCommerce.

Customization Features

Both ClickFunnels and WordPress offer plenty of customization features and let you take landing page templates and modify them.

Which Platform Offers Better Customization Features?

  • ClickFunnels’ customization features are better for beginners who want to create landing pages and sales funnels quickly.
  • WordPress landing page plugins (like SeedPod) and funnel builder plugins (like WooFunnels) offer excellent customization features. However, for advanced users, integrations like Ontraport offer much higher customization than those provided by ClickFunnels.

Customer Support

ClickFunnels runs a 24-hour live chat support system during weekdays (Monday to Friday).

ClickFunnels hypes its Facebook group for Community support because this allows discussions outside the scope of customer service and tech support teams.

This can cover marketing strategy, SEO, and planning. However, since you’re dealing with other users rather than ClickFunnels staff, there are no guarantees on quality or wait times.

WordPress cheerfully describes its support technicians as “Happiness Engineers.”

WordPress notes some 24/7 support options (forums and support documentation) and Live Chat Support 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday for customers with an annual Premium, Business, or eCommerce plan. WordPress.com Business and eCommerce plan users also get 24-hour chat support on weekends.

If all Happiness Engineers are busy or unavailable, live chat messages will automatically send through email support.

Final Thoughts

  • Choose ClickFunnels if: You don’t already have a WordPress website and want a quick and easy way to create landing pages and sales funnels.
  • Choose WordPress if: You want to build a website and focus on SEO with the option of building landing pages and sales funnels to sell products, services, or memberships.

While ClickFunnels can negate the need for having a traditional website, it can work well with WordPress if you use the ClickFunnels plugin.

This combination lets you connect WordPress sites to a ClickFunnels account and display funnel pages within a blog without any coding.

Overall, WordPress is a better choice for those who want a 100% custom yet traditional website.

At the same time, ClickFunnels is better for those interested in sales funnels more than in having a traditional website.
