Step 2: Next, ensure the correct account is selected and connected in the GoHighLevel sub-account. Head to “Integrations,” and under the Google icon, check the MCC (My Client Center) account ID and the Google Ads client account ID.

If you haven’t yet connected the Google Ads account with GoHighLevel, you just need to grab the ID numbers.

The MCC account ID can be found in the top right corner of your Google Ads login screen.

The Google Ads client account ID can be found by clicking “Help” and viewing the customer ID that appears.

Once you have added these to GoHighLevel, click “Connect” and move on to step 3.

Step 3: Next, you need to add the UTM tracking template to the Google Ad account so that the data will show up in GoHighLevel. Copy the following piece of code:

{lpurl}?utm_source=adwords&utm_medium={adname}&utm_campaign={campaignname}&utm_content={adgroupname}&utm_keyword={keyword}&utm_matchtype={matchtype}&campaign_id={campaignid}&ad_group_id={adgroupid}&ad_id={creative}

Step 4: You will now have a dropdown box where you can adjust the goal and action optimization. GoHighLevel recommends choosing “Converted Lead.”

Step 5: Now, name your conversion.

use the conversion name

Step 6: Assign a value to your conversion and select a count. It’s recommended to pick “One” rather than “Every.”

“Every” records every single action as a conversion. So, if the same person performs the same action ten times, such as clicking on a link, it will be recorded as ten conversions.

Selecting “One” records every unique action as a conversion. So in the example above, even though the same person has clicked on the link ten times, it will only be recorded as one conversion. Therefore, using this option gives you more accurate data.

Step 7: Ensure the “Click-through conversion window” is set to 90 days and set the “Attribution model” to “First click” or “Latest click.” Click “Save,” and you’re done.
