How to Use Kajabi: Step-By-Step Guide

Here is a quick bullet point list of what we are going to cover in this article:


Step 1. Create an Account

First things first, you will need to set up a valid Kajabi account.

Go to and click on the “Free Trial” button hanging out in the top right corner.

Pick a username and password and other relevant information and click “Get Your Account”.

Kajabi will then send you an email with a link to verify your account.

Click on it, then your Kajabi account will be all set up and ready to go.


Step 2. Create Your Products

Courses are the bread and butter of Kajabi so let’s start with those.

To add a new course to your website, go to the Kajabi dashboard and click on the “Products” tab under the “Store” heading. 

Next, fill in the product’s title and description (e.g. Learn How to Play Piano).

Don’t worry about this too much right now, you can always come back and change it later.

Next, add some pictures and other branding images to let your students know what they are buying. 

Hit the “Categories” tab in the dashboard and create a category and add an image.

Categories are used to group courses into smaller sections of related products. 

Once you have your categories set, it’s time to start adding posts to each course. You can think of “posts” as individual lessons that are grouped under a specific course.

Go to a specific product page and click on the “Posts” tab on the left.

You will be taken to the post page where you can add individual lessons to your course.

The post editor has a nice visual preview with the post content on the left and post info on the right. 


Step. 3 Create Landing Pages

Now that you have your first product up you need a way to direct people to your course pages.

That is where landing pages come in. Kajabi lets users create standalone landing pages where you market your products. 

Back at the top of the Kajabi dashboard, click on the “Landing Pages” tab and click the +New Landing Page” button.

Kajabi comes with some great predefined landing page templates so you don’t have to start completely from scratch. Browse through the list of templates and click on the one that you like. 

Once the landing page preview loads, you can use the drag-and-drop editor to customize things how you like.

You can add images, a CTA, testimonials, etc. Thes landing pages are used to direct users to your specific product pages and you get their info for marketing purposes.  


Step 4. Creating Offers (Selling Products)

Now that we have a product and a landing page we need to focus on setting prices and selling your products.

Kajabi offers several pricing options for individual products. You can set things as a flat price, set up subscriptions, or bundle several products together for a discounted price.

First, click on the “Sales” button on the dashboard and click the “Offers” tab. 

From the offer page, scroll to the bottom and click which product is to be included in the offer.

You can click multiple boxes if you want to bundle multiple products together. 

Once you decide the products, scroll down to the “Price” section and set what kind of pricing plan you want for that product.

Kajabi lets you set pricing offers to “free”, “one-time payment”, multiple payments”, and “monthly subscription.”

Kajabi lets you set the price and the currency you want. 

Now that you have your product offer set, you need to connect your account so you can get paid.

Go back to the Kajabi dashboard on the “Sales” tab and hit the “Payments” button. On the next page, you will be asked to connect your Stripe account.

Currently, Kajabi only has built-in payment processing for Stripe accounts. Once your account is verified, you can start accepting payments. 


Step 5. Create Your Website

Now that you have some products, landing pages, and different offers and payment options set, you need a good site to put it all together. Got the Kajabi dashboard and hit the “Website” tab. 

When you click the “Appearance” tab you will be taken to the site editor where you can customize the layout of your pages. Kajabi also has several preset themes you can choose between.

Click the green “Pick Theme” button in the top right and you can preview and apply various themes to your page.

Your choice of theme can completely change the look and feel of your page and products. 

The best part of the Kajabi editor is you don’t need to know any coding at all.

Everything is set up based on a click-and-edit format. At any time during the editing process, you can click on the “Preview” tab to generate a visual preview of what your site will look like to visitors.

Many of the pre-defined templates come with useful features like opt-ins.


6. Set Up Email Marketing Automations

The last thing to do is set up your email marketing automations. These automatic tools will help streamline the marketing process and help you convert leads into sales.

From the Kajabi dashboard, click the “Email Marketing” tab and click the “+New Email Broadcast” button. 

You will be taken to an email template page where you can draft your marketing email.

From the page, you can choose which subscriber list to send the email to (e.g. all contacts, active users, members-only, etc.), These filter options let you build sophisticated sales funnels to better target groups in your marketing pipeline. 

After you set your filter details, create the body of the email and the integrated wizard will help you finalize it and send it out. 


We just covered the basics of how to use Kajabi. There are a lot of other features we did not cover, such as pipelines, affiliate marketing tools, and membership sites. If at any point you are confused navigating the platform, you can use the Kajabi Assistant.

Click on the Kajabi Assistant in the dashboard and type in what you want to do (e.g. Create offers).

The Assistant will return the most relevant results. Click on the one you want and you will be taken to the page for that specific operation.
