I’ve been a Kajabi affiliate partner for four years and have had great success with the program.
If you’re interested in giving it a go, here’s my exclusive insight into the program’s inner workings.
Key Takeaways:
- Kajabi pays an ongoing commission rate of 30%
- If your referral changes their plan, your commission rate will be adjusted
- You must have an active Kajabi subscription to sign up
Why Sign up as a Kajabi Affiliate Partner?
Like any affiliate program, signing up as a Kajabi partner allows you to promote the product and receive a healthy commission in return.
As long as your referrals keep an active Kajabi subscription, you’ll get money in your bank account each month. If you are good at promoting the platform, it can become a very lucrative side hustle or even a full-time business.
The great thing about Kajabi is that it’s not an unknown platform. It’s well-established and has a great reputation (its Trustpilot score is 4.4).
And the digital learning products market is set to soar in the coming years. The current market was valued at $214.26 billion in 2021 and is predicted to grow another 20% by 2030.
That means there’s a real demand for platforms like Kajabi, with individuals looking for the right platform to start their business with.
Kajabi Affiliate Payout Rates: How Much Can You Really Make?
Kajabi pays an ongoing commission rate of 30%, regardless of plan and subscription type. As long as the referral remains on an active subscription after they have completed their trial period, you will continue to get payouts until they cancel their plan.
If the referral upgrades or downgrades their plan, your commission will be adjusted in line with the new subscription price.
Here’s a look at what payouts you will get according to plan type:
Kajabi Plan | Subscription Price | Commission Payout |
---|---|---|
Kickstarter monthly | $69 | $20.70/month |
Kickstarter annual | $660 | $198/year |
Basic monthly | $149 | $44.70/month |
Basic annual | $1,428 | $428.40/year |
Growth monthly | $199 | $59.70/month |
Growth annual | $1,908 | $572.40/year |
Pro monthly | $399 | $119.70/month |
Pro annual | $3,828 | $1,148.40/year |
Commission payouts are made on the 25th of each month following Kajabi’s receipt of your referral’s subscription payment.
Unfortunately, the referral cookie (generated when someone clicks on your referral link) only lasts 30 days. So, if someone signs up after 30 days have passed, you will no longer qualify for commission.
A Quick Look at the Kajabi Partner Affiliate Dashboard
Once you sign up for the affiliate partner program, you’ll get access to your affiliate dashboard. This dashboard reveals the leaderboard and your existing level.
All newbies begin at the Starter level, and as they generate signups, they move up through the ranks to the Legend level, which is as high as you can get.
Yep, as you can see, I’m at Legend level! You can also see that I’ve achieved that in four short years, proving how well you can do if you promote the platform well.
The dashboard also displays:
- How many times your affiliate links have been clicked
- The number of referrals currently in their trial period
- The number of active referrals
- How much you have earned in the present month so far
- What will be paid into your account on the 25th
- Your lifetime earnings to date
How to Sign up as a Kajabi Partner (Step by Step)
Here are two very important things to note:
- You can only sign up for the Kajabi affiliate program if you are a Kajabi subscriber yourself.
- You must also have an active PayPal account.
Personally, I think having a user account should be necessary for all affiliate programs. After all, how can you promote a platform properly if you don’t bother using it yourself?
So, choose your plan and sign up as a full-paying member. Then, you can begin the Kajabi Partner sign-up process.
If you don’t yet have a PayPal account, make sure you also get yourself one of those before signing up.
Step 1: Log into your Kajabi account and click your name in the top-right corner. Select “Partner Program” from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Complete the online form with the required information and click “View Your Dashboard.”
Step 3: You’re in! Grab your affiliate referral link located at the top-right of the screen and start promoting!
How to Use Your Kajabi Affiliate Links Properly
Choose the Right Campaign
Choosing the right campaign type comes down to knowing your audience. Who are you promoting the platform to?
Kajabi offers several campaigns that consist of different landing pages and offers. For example, you can generate an affiliate link for the AI Creator Hub or Kajabi pricing page.
There’s currently an offer for 20% off monthly plans for the first year, and there’s also my personal favorite—an extended 30-day free trial for the Growth plan.
This campaign works for me because my audience likes to try out platforms before they commit financially. Once they have given Kajabi a good test, they are more likely to continue as paying subscribers.
However, a different campaign might work better for you, so my advice is to try out a few and see which one yields the best results.
Use the Kajabi Referral Email Template to Offer Bonuses
A great way to encourage signups is to offer your audience a bonus.
This bonus could be a free coaching session on how to use Kajabi, a digital download, or anything else you feel would be valuable to your audience.
To facilitate this, Kajabi provides an email template you can use.
In your Kajabi Partner dashboard, click on any of your active campaigns and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
You’ll see the option to create a new signup email.
Create the content of your email and upload any files that contain the bonus content or include the relevant links.
Then, when someone signs up using your affiliate link, Kajabi will automatically send the email on your behalf. This email is super useful because it prevents you from forgetting to do it yourself and disappointing the customer.
Create Valuable Content
Of course, I will recommend this method because it’s what I do!
Create useful content for those who are curious about using the Kajabi platform. This content could be reviews, guides, tips, or anything else you think your audience finds interesting.
Try to make your content unique and stand out from a sea of information. What unique perspective can you offer? Can you teach people about your experiences? What do you think your audience is most keen to learn?
Leverage Social Media
You can’t ignore the power of social media, and you can easily leverage it to promote your Kajabi campaigns. Some ideas include:
You’ll get the most exposure in short-form videos, so create TikToks, Facebook Reels, and Instagram Reels that give tips and advice on Kajabi.
Or, if you prefer to go in-depth, start a YouTube channel and provide longer tutorials and insights.
What I Like – and Don’t Like – About the Kajabi Partner Program
I’ll start with the good stuff.
I strongly feel that you should believe in anything you try to “sell” to others. If you don’t, you’re being dishonest.
I love Kajabi, and I firmly believe it is one of the best platforms of its kind. The features are great, and the user experience is top-notch. That makes it an incredibly easy thing to promote.
Also, Kajabi is reliable. I have never experienced a missed payment or any delays in my commission. For me, this is incredibly important because this is my livelihood.
However, no program is perfect, and some things make participating in the Kajabi affiliate program a little frustrating.
First, while there are affiliate managers, I’ve found it virtually impossible to get in touch with one.
Instead, I’m directed to Kajabi’s standard customer service, which doesn’t appear to understand or know anything about the affiliate program. This makes it extremely difficult to get the right assistance if I have an issue that needs resolving.
Second, Kajabi frequently adjusts and changes the terms and conditions of the program. For example, they have recently removed the cash bonus for generating 50 to 100 active referrals.
This bonus equated to $500 or $1,000 per month, so that was a big chunk of money that disappeared overnight.
That said, Kajabi has said it is introducing new incentives, so we’ll have to wait and see what emerges.
GoHighLevel offers 40%!
Lastly, I need to make you aware that Kajabi’s commission rate is actually quite a bit lower than that of similar platforms. Yes, 30% is still good, but considering most other platforms offer 40%, I think they need to do better here.
