On the other hand, Squarespace was made for building websites. As such, you have lots of customization features and hundreds of amazing templates for just about any type of business you can think of, particularly e-commerce.

Unfortunately, Squarespace has some of the largest transaction fees going. And, unless you pay for the most expensive digital products add-on plan, you can’t avoid them. 

Squarespace pricing can get a little complicated, so here’s a breakdown of what you will pay:

  • Transaction fees: 0%-9% on all sales

Now, you don’t have to purchase an add-on to sell digital products with Squarespace. However, you’ll pay the highest transaction fee of 9%.

Note that Kajabi does not impose any transaction fees on sales, regardless of your chosen plan. 

Therefore, paying for a Kajabi plan instead of a Squarespace add-on plan makes better financial sense. You get much better (and more) features, and you don’t have to give up a cut of your sales.

  • In contrast, Kajabi lets you send unlimited emails, and setting up automated campaigns is easier.

Squarespace has one notable marketing feature that Kajabi doesn’t, and that’s an app for creating visually compelling social media content. So, if marketing on Facebook, Instagram, etc., is your thing, you’ll love this tool.

What Kajabi lacks in social media marketing features, it makes up for with its funnel-building feature.

The platform provides prebuilt funnel templates, or you can create your own from scratch. Then, you can link all the funnel steps together with seamless automation.

Right, so although you can use a tool called Zapier to connect Kajabi with Squarespace, I don’t personally recommend it. 

Zapier acts like a digital bridge between the two platforms and allows information to flow between them. It can be complicated to use and requires technical knowledge—plus you have to pay for the service.

My preferred (and free) way to integrate Kajabi and Squarespace is to use the humble sub-domain. For this, you’re going to need a main domain name.

All Squarespace plans give you a free domain for the first year, so use it to set up your Squarespace website first. When you’re ready, hop over to Kajabi to set up the sub-domain.

1. Log into your Kajabi account and navigate to Settings > Domain Settings > Setup Custom Domain > Create a subdomain instead.

2. Add the name of your subdomain, add your Squarespace domain, and click Continue.

For example, if your Squarespace site domain is www.coolproducts.com, a sub-domain for your Kajabi site might be:

  • courses.coolproducts.com
  • communities.coolproducts.com

3. To complete the sub-domain setup, you must add the CNAME record to your domain. 

To do this, you log into the DNS settings of your domain registrar and add the information that Kajabi provides.

4. The process for adding a CNAME record will differ depending on your domain registrar. Therefore, I recommend referring to your domain registrar’s help pages to understand how to do it.

5. Once you add the CNAME record to your domain, head back to Kajabi and click to verify your subdomain. After a few moments, the setup will be complete.

To help people find and navigate to your sub-domain, I recommend adding information and links on your Squarespace site pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, there is no native Kajabi-Squarespace integration. Instead, you can use Zapier to connect the two platforms, or you can connect Kajabi by creating a subdomain of your Square site.
