Key Takeaways:

  • WhatsApp integration costs $10/month per sub-account
  • Add a markup and charge the increased amount to clients
  • WhatsApp can also be offered as part of a SaaS package

How GoHighLevel WhatsApp Integration Will Benefit Your Business

Although many cell phone carriers now include unlimited SMS in their call packages, many people still prefer app-based messaging apps.

The ability to send unlimited, long messages without character limits is very appealing. Also, the ability to send emojis, stickers, GIFs, and voice notes makes for a more interactive and fun experience.

Over 2 Billion Active Monthly Users

2 Billion Active Monthly Users

The user base of messaging apps has now surpassed three billion, and WhatsApp is the undisputed leader of them all.

The app currently has around 2.4 billion active monthly users. That’s just about 25% of the global population!

I’m one of those 2.4 billion users, and I can tell you, I pay far more attention to WhatsApp messages than I do SMS. If I get an SMS, it’s either to tell me that a parcel is being delivered or it’s some kind of spam message, so I mostly ignore them.

Adding WhatsApp to GoHighLevel opens up your business to a wider, more attentive audience.

Expand Global Audience and Reach

Expand Global Audience and Reach

Using messaging apps like WhatsApp makes it much easier for businesses to expand their reach and engage audiences outside of the US.

WhatsApp is currently used in over 180 countries, so consider the possibilities this opens up—especially if you sell digital products or services.

The great thing is that WhatsApp recognizes this, so it includes business features to manage communication with customers and even allows you to build communities to increase audience engagement.

Resell and Make a Profit

Resell and Make a Profit

GoHighLevel charges $10 per month to use WhatsApp per sub-account, but you can charge your customers whatever you like!

The WhatsApp resell feature is auto-populated to charge customers $29.99, which will give you an extra $19.99 worth of profit per month. However, you can change this to whatever figure you think is best.

Selling GoHighLevel as SaaS

Selling GoHighLevel as SaaS is one of the biggest draws for using the platform, and you can enhance your SaaS offer by integrating and selling third-party apps—like WhatsApp—as part of the package.

Inside the SaaS configurator tool, you can also mark up the charges for having WhatsApp conversations. The profit margin here is small, but it can soon add up if you have lots of SaaS customers using WhatsApp.

This is a great way to make your SaaS product more appealing and provide extra value to your customers.

Use WhatsApp in Automated Marketing Campaigns

One of GoHighLevel’s best features is its automation capabilities. The sophisticated workflow tool lets you use any of the compatible communication methods to build fully automated sequences.

Of course, WhatsApp is one of these communication methods, so you can expand your reach by incorporating the app into your marketing campaigns.

Why GoHighLevel Templates Are Crucial for Initiating WhatsApp Conversations

GoHighLevel Templates

If you or your clients choose to use WhatsApp as a communication method, you need to be aware of the restrictions.

To abide by WhatsApp’s strict terms of use, GoHighLevel has made it necessary for you to use approved templates when contacting leads for the first time.

Additionally, if you have received an inbound message from a lead and don’t reply within 24 hours, you will have to use a template if you want to respond outside the 24-hour window.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • You must create templates for outbound marketing, customer service, or authentication messages.
  • Submitted templates take up to 24 hours to be approved.
  • If a template is rejected, you must edit it and resubmit it. Common reasons for rejection include formatting errors, violations of WhatsApp’s policies, and submitting too many similar templates.
  • Approved templates can be deactivated if the customer feedback is negative and has low engagement. This is done to protect the quality rating of your phone numbers.

It’s a lot, I know. But it ensures that you only send high-quality messages to your leads. It also helps prevent your messages from being flagged as spam, which you definitely don’t want to happen.

GoHighLevel WhatsApp Pricing

GoHighLevel WhatsApp Pricing

The base rate for using WhatsApp is $10 per month. However, if you add a marked-up price, your clients will be charged the new amount.

There are extra charges to be aware of, though, and they are somewhat confusing.

Essentially, inbound and outbound messages are free, with a couple of exceptions:

  • If you get an inbound message from a lead, you have 24 hours to reply:
    • Responding within 24 hours is free.
    • Responding later than 24 hours means you have to use a template, which is chargeable.
  • Outbound messages that require the use of templates are chargeable.

The charges also vary depending on which country the messages are sent to. Here are a couple of examples:

  • North America: $0.0092–$0.0263
  • United Kingdom: $0.0376–$0.074
  • Brazil: $0.0315–$0.0656
