Kajabi drop content is a powerful tool that gives you more control over how course content is released to students.
This is how and why I leveraged it to gain more sales and higher revenue.
Key Takeaways:
- Drip content gradually releases course modules over a specified timeframe
- It provides a more focused learning experience and higher engagement levels
- Dripped courses can act as a sales funnel to introduce upsells
A Quick Explanation of Drip Content

Drip content is a long-used strategy that gradually releases information, materials, or messages over a set period.
In a learning context, the dripped content refers to modules released daily, weekly, or monthly.
For example, a customer who has just purchased a dripped course may initially only have access to module one. After a week, module two is released. After a second week, module three, and so on.
The main purpose of doing this is to keep individuals engaged over time. Instead of a massive information dump, dripped content is more manageable and easily consumable.
How Kajabi Drip Content Increases Product Value
A Focused Learning Experience

Firstly, dripped content ensures the learner remains focused on one thing at a time.Â
Rather than skimming all the information, learners get the necessary time to concentrate and go in-depth on a single topic. It’s also much easier to retain information if it’s delivered in bite-sized chunks.
Better Course Pace and Structure

Additionally, dripping content gives you control over the learning pace and ensures that learners don’t rush through material or skip essential lessons or modules.
You can structure the drip sequence so that the content is released in a logical fashion. Each new lesson can build upon the last or gradually build in complexity.
Higher Engagement Levels
A big problem with simultaneously releasing all your course content is that your learners are initially motivated and excited to get started, but this quickly wears off.
In fact, online course dropout rates are sky-high, with studies placing them between 40% and 80%.
You definitely don’t want that for your course.
When you deliver your content in stages, learners anticipate the next installment. And, that initial rush of motivation is continuously refreshed with each new release. Learners remain eager to keep going.
As a result, your engagement rates improve, and your customers don’t feel like they didn’t get any value from your product.
Time to Absorb Knowledge

If you sit through a two-hour webinar, how much of it do you actually remember a week later?
Even the most interesting subjects in the world are no match for our short attention spans.
Furthermore, too much information all at once causes something called cognitive overload. It means our brains literally can’t handle large amounts of information and will struggle to process and retain any of it.
Instead, breaking down information into manageable chunks has a much better outcome. It gives learners time to absorb and reflect on the knowledge, which is the key to long-term retention.
Increased Feedback and Support

A drip strategy gives you—the creator—an opportunity to engage with your learners and offer feedback and support when needed.
This is much harder when all the course material is made available at once because you never know what stage the learner is at.
Instead, dripping content allows you to keep tabs on each of your learners and what they are currently working on. You can even offer bonus tips and knowledge as they move through the material.
How Kajabi Drip Content Increases My Revenue
The benefits of drip content to the learner are obvious, but how will it make you more money?
More Value Equals a Higher Price

Thanks to all the learner advantages I highlighted above, my customers are happy people.Â
They feel they get a lot of value from my courses and come away with real skills and knowledge they can apply in the real world.
That means that because my course actually has a positive impact, I can sell it for a higher price.
I Can Sell Dripped Courses as a SubscriptionÂ

This doesn’t work for all courses—particularly shorter ones—but for my big courses, I tend to offer them as a subscription.
This works to both my and my customer’s advantage.Â
My customers love it because the smaller payments mean they’re not forking out a huge amount upfront. I love it because I get ongoing revenue over a longer period.
Also, I can extend the course or provide additional content on an ongoing basis, which means my customers keep paying to access it.
Higher Engagement Means More Referrals and Reviews

Remember those happy customers? They’re vital for increasing those online review scores.
Since I started dripping content, the amount of positive reviews and referrals has gone up. My material gets recommended on blogs and social media, which sends me even more traffic.
It Acts as a Sales Funnel (Without Anyone Realizing)

Okay, so when someone purchases my courses, they have already bought something. However, I have smaller courses for basic or introductory subjects and big-ticket courses that go in-depth.
Dripping content on the smaller courses allows me to gently and gradually introduce my big-ticket courses. When learners reach the end of their current course, they are not surprised or alarmed by an invitation to purchase the larger item.
Essentially, I have moved them through a sales funnel without them realizing it. And, since they got good value from their course, they are more likely to buy another one!Â
Kajabi Drip Content and Product Access: A Powerful Combo

So, I think we can all agree that drip content is a powerful tool. But there’s a way to level it up even more.
Kajabi has another feature called Product Access. This neat thing allows you to lock access to an entire course and release it on a predetermined day and time.
So, let’s say you have 20 people who have purchased your course, and you lock access until October 10th at noon. At that moment, all 20 individuals will gain access to the course simultaneously.
Plus, when you also drip the content, ALL your learners will move through the modules at the same pace.
This gives you loads of exciting opportunities to up the value (and revenue) of your course. For example:
- You can include a community so learners have a space to talk about each module and share ideas.
- You could offer group support and/or Q&A sessions at specific intervals.
- The Kajabi Live feature is perfect for providing additional coaching or bonus sessions.

Click on the title, and you can edit the content.
That’s it. Happy dripping!
